During each of my coaching stints, I was also operating as a hitting instructor for kids ranging from 10 all the way up to 18. This included running clinics as well as doing one on one and small group lessons.
The summer before graduating I injured my shoulder playing summer ball for the Westbrook legion team. While I played my Sr year it became obvious that my body, despite being young, could not sustain consistent playing time anymore. A fragile shoulder, a bad knee, and consistent flares of tendonitis in my ankles highlighted the fact that my days of playing a full schedule were over. Understanding that my playing days were over, I was asked by Derek Karcich to coach the Morgan high school JV team just one year removed from playing high school baseball myself. This began my coaching career.
